Instructions and Information

Welcome and thank you for your interest in the RETA workshops.

Since RETA did not receive funding from the NM Legislature for 2009-2010, we have to charge for our workshops.

Participants can sign up for Professional Development Dossier, NMTA and Partnership workshops. Registration for Technology Integration workshops and the RETA online courses will be available soon.

Professional Development Dossier

The cost for the series of six Professional Development Dossier (PDD) workshops is $250. The PDD groups meet for six Saturdays from October through February. Each PDD group will determine the dates for their workshops.

The availability of a face-to-face (f-2-f) workshop group for your area will depend on the number of registrants from your area. A minimum of 10 registrants is needed for a face-to-face group. Just in case there are not enough registrants for a f-2-f group in your area, during the registration process you will be asked if you are willing to participate in an online group.

To participate in a PDD online group, which meets once a week for 1.5-2 hours per week during a weekday evening for 16 weeks, you will need a computer connected to the Internet and a headphone mike set.

You should check with your district about the possibility of being reimbursed for all or part of the cost of your participation in RETA PDD workshops. Many districts have a reimbursement program or policy.

NMTA

The New Mexico Teacher Assessment Competency Preparation online course is $75/participant with the option to take the course for one credit.

Partnerships

RETA offers free professional development workshops through its partnerships:

  • Online Teaching and Learning Opportunities (OTLO)
  • Consortium for 21st Century Learning (C21CL)
  • Blackboard for eBlended Online Learning and Development (BeBOLD)
  • Podcasting and Vodcasting for Improved Achievement (PVIA)

Registration Instructions

The registration process will take you approximately 10 minutes. During that time we will ask you for current contact information, a bit about your teaching history, and your workshop interests.

We only ask for this information so that we can contact you easily in the event of workshop changes. Additionally, we need to be able to report on how many teachers we have helped from each district/school. We promise to take the necessary precautions to protect your information and promise not to give it to third parties for any purpose.
