Overview
This lesson is designed for elementary students who can read at or above the third grade level. Younger students could do this activity with an older partner who reads. The content of this lesson is science.

- Students will be familiar with the names of the oceans.
- Students will understand that many animals live in the oceans.

Tasks
Students can work in groups of two or three to do the Ocean Quest and the online activities.
- Students explore the oceans animals by following the online Ocean Quest.
- Students do an online activity where they name the oceans of Earth.
- Students do an online activity where they place a few ocean creatures in a prepared underwater scene.
Assessment
- Students may be assessed on their abilities to follow the sequence of the activities. They may be assessed on their knowledge of the oceans names.
- Students can create ocean dioramas to share with their classmates and others.
- Students can create maps of the oceans and label the major animals found in them.
